In the foreground, a broad unpaved roadway leads past landscaped gardens and vine trellises. Elegant multi-story villas line the street to the right, while the town rises on the wooded slopes beyond. The dome and tower of the New Castle and other historic buildings are visible against the hillside. Issued as No. 35 in the “Bords du Rhin” series, with the original printed label on the reverse.
