Description:
19th-century stereoview depicting Friedrichstrasse, one of Berlin’s principal streets. The image shows the busy thoroughfare lined with grand buildings, including the Hôtel Central on the left, with pedestrians walking under the awnings. In the background, an elevated railway viaduct passes above the street near Friedrichstrasse station, with a train visible crossing the bridge. The card mount is printed “BERLIN.” on both sides of the image, with the caption “280. Die Friedrichstrasse.” below. The reverse bears a descriptive label in Dutch explaining the view, issued by Uitgave Merkelbach & Co., Amsterdam.
