Photographer Biography:
Traugott Richard (1823–1899) was a Swiss photographer with a studio in Männedorf, on the shore of Lake Zurich.
He was active as a photographer roughly from 1863 into the 1880s, producing cartes-de-visite, cabinet cards, stereoviews and albumen prints.
He was a founding member of the Schweizerischer Photographen-Verein (Swiss Photographers' Association).
His output included Swiss landscape and topographical views as well as ethnographic studio studies of regional costume; this stereoview documenting war-damaged Strasbourg was issued through the Zurich firm of Attenhofer & Cie.
