A stereoview documenting a street in the Belváros (inner city) district of Temesvár (present-day Timișoara, Romania), printed under the series title "Felvételek" ("Photographs") and attributed on the mount to Josef Brand, described in the accompanying German and Hungarian inscriptions as a parish priest active in the town. The nearly identical left and right images show a cobblestone thoroughfare receding toward a vanishing point, lined on the right by a row of two- and three-story buildings with striped shop awnings, and a loose group of men and boys standing informally in the roadway in the foreground.
The printed attribution to Josef Brand, combined with the rounded corner mount and albumen print characteristics, is consistent with amateur or semi-professional stereoview production typical of Austro-Hungarian provincial towns in the late nineteenth century.
