A hand-colored stereoview depicting the water entrance to the Venetian Arsenal, flanked by two crenellated brick towers and a low wooden footbridge spanning the canal. In the middle distance stands the ornate Porta Magna land gate with its crowning statue, while several moored boats and a gondola occupy the foreground water, which has been tinted a pale green. The sky and towers have been overpainted with blue and pink pigment in a manner typical of hand-tinted stereo cards of the period.
