Stereoview of Wörth, Field Hospital No. 4, von Zabuesnig, 1870
A stereoview showing a large group of uniformed men assembled on a lawn in front of a multi-story building set within a garden or park, framed by trees and a picket fence. Several figures wear light-colored armbands consistent with hospital or medical corps duty, a figure in clerical dress (likely a chaplain) stands among them, and a two-wheeled hand-litter or ambulance cart is visible in the foreground. The scene is numbered '31.' in ink at the top of the mount.
The blind-embossed corner mark identifies the work as originating from the studio of Otto von Zabuesnig in Kempten, a photographer whose activity in the Bavarian Allgäu region is documented from the 1860s onward, consistent with the early date of this image.
